Dreary conditions to persist across Britain through the start of the week

While the United Kingdom will get a break from strong storms, cloud and misty spells will persist through the beginning of the week.
The dangerous storm surge and polar air mass gradually released their grip on the United Kingdom over the weekend as milder air streamed into the Isles. The departure of the depression responsible for the pounding seas and settling snow will allow for calmer weather across the region.

Though the building high pressure will help to prevent strong storms systems from slamming the United Kingdom, it will produce several cloudy and dull days across the Isles.
AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said, "The dreary conditions that will set up across the region on Monday will persist throughout much of the week."

Cloud and misty spells could produce travel delays in some locations. Patchy fog during the overnight and morning may lead to slower morning commutes. Despite none of the rain is expected to be heavy, brollies may occasional be needed.
While temperatures will be close to average across southern England and Wales, the occasional mist and limited sunshine will make the air feel rather cool.

Roy adds "The best of any sunshine will occur across Scotland and Northern Ireland." This will also be where some of the mildest temperatures will be found. Belfast and Glasgow will see temperature highs near 10 C (50 F) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, cities in the south, such as London will only see highs near 7 or 8 C (middle 40s F).
High pressure will remain across the United Kingdom through end end of the week. This should continue to prevent storms for as long as the high persists.
